Eugene McGuire DDS at 1575 Pond Road, Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Dr. McGuire is an amazing dentist. However his receptionists are rude. I called to update my contact information before scheduling my sons appointment. A few weeks later i called to see when his appointment was because i was hospitalized and i never recieved a confirmation call. I was told that they did call! I asked what number they called and i stated to them that number was changed a year ago and that i updated it prior to making the appointment. The receptionist placed me on hold and really called the number and then proceeded to tell me that it was ringing. I was floored and i asked well do you have caller ID? What number am I calling you from? I hope that he hires new help that are professionals.

This dentist is amazing, he's a very nice person who knows what he is doing and genuinely cares. My son had a smooth experience getting his cavities filled. The hygienist was also very nice. So why 2 stars? The front office staff are completely incompetent and do nothing correct. Upon check in I was asked for name not greeted or anything. I was not asked to verify my information or go over insurance. Then when I get to check out I am told they do not take my insurance and the cost would be $525 that had to be paid in full or they would not submit an out of network claim. When I mentioned maybe this should have been discussed at check in so I could have avoided this cost and not gotten the work done. She quickly snapped back that is the patient's responsibility, yes because I don't have enough on my mind about my 5 year old having a major procedure done. I should also remember to remind the receptionist to do her job as well! Bravo! The point is this huge cost could have easily been avoided if someone would have taken the time to look up from her phone at check in and bothered to what she gets paid for. So upsetting and disappointing to get such great service from the dentist himself and then have to deal with the complete opposite on the other side. Not a good experience.
